Why we humans procrastinate

We humans are so funny.we tend to procrastinate and are always living a life of denial. We convince ourselves that life will be better when we get a good job, fall in love, get married, have a baby, and so on. Later we become frustrated with that dream situation but again we convince our self that we will be happier in the coming situation.so funny no?
Why do we wait for the happy moments when we can be happy right now?.We know, but unfortunately refuse to accept the truth that there is no better time to be happy than right now. If not, then when would it be?
